Poor Sadie!

Poor Sadie Re...teething is for the birds! She has been an absolute wreck for almost 3 whole days now and we even made a trip to the doctor just to make sure we weren't missing anything! Pharmacy today= prescription decongestant, infant Tylenol, infant Motrin, homeopathic teething tablets, diaper cream and a new toothbrush just for good measure. This combined with the new sleeping arrangements are not making for a happy baby. We wore her out in the pool tonight, so let's hope she is back to normal tomorrow! We miss our happy, smiley, giggly girl!

Night #1

Holy cow did the first night here go well! The kids had played really hard in the pool and were getting pretty tired...so it was time for dinner. My sister and I ran to the store to get some communal groceries. We then tag teamed some yummy dinner and everyones bellies were full. I did tubby time and Ryan helped out with clean-up. The kids went to bed with no problems!

Now the sleeping on the other hand! I think Ash got up with Cooper once to potty and he joined us about 6ish and snuggled back in...not too bad. But Sadie...oh Sadie...or is it me? I have to be the lightest sleeper...EVER! And since she is a mere arms length away from me I heard every wiggle, moan, sigh, cry, binky suck...you name it I heard it! By about 2 am I started praying! Please let me sleep silently...please! We were then snuggled in and the kids slept until 7:45!

Let's keep our fingers crossed for tonight!

Move #1...check!

Whew! We've completed Phase #1 of the move! Ryan and I spent the better part of the weekend preparing for the move this morning. Thanks to our parents for herding our kids and Jake, Ashley, Pat, Evan, Jay and Andy for helping to load the truck this morning! So far, things have gone off without a hitch. The majority of our belongings have been loaded up and will stay on the moving truck for the next month or so...at that point, the trucking company will bring the truck to our new house for us to unload. Pretty slick deal!

After the moving, my sister and I headed to my parents/our interim home to unload all of our stuff and get the bedrooms situated. Sadie's crib will be in with Ryan & I and Cooper will be bunking with Aunt Awk. We brought his bed from home to keep some normality, but I'd say he'll being sneaking in with Ashley most nights!

Since we finished early we decided to make the most of the Sunday Funday and head to the pool...one of the many perks of moving in with my 'rents! It was nice to watch the kids play and hang-out in the sunshine!

I intend to post about these interesting living arrangements, so stay tuned! And...a big thanks to my Mom and Dad for opening up their home to all of us!

House or Home?

Wow. Our move is really quickly approaching...2 more nights here to be exact. Someone asked me earlier in the week how the emotions were and to be honest, I hadn't had much time to really think about it. But last night as Ryan and I were packing the kitchen...it took 4 HOURS...we were chatting about how much we would miss this place. We've had so many "firsts" here and created so many awesome memories together and with our children. But as we get closer and the house gets more and more empty, I've really started to realize that it's a house...a house that we made into our home. It will soon be someone else's home and we will be creating a new home in our new house. We are definitely ready for the next chapter in our journey!

"You make me melt..."

"...like a Popsicle on the forf of July!" This is one of Cooper's favorite lines from the Little Rascals. I picked this movie up for him a couple of weeks ago and it is hysterical! He really looks and talks like one of them and repeats ALL of the lines! Anyway, things have been super stressful here but Cooper really has a way of smoothing things over and really making me melt!

Yesterday morning he woke up in a GREAT mood, which doesn't happen often at the Rowden house. I'm NOT a morning person and neither are my children! I attributed this to him going to bed early and without a fight and told him how proud I was of him. He told me he felt great and knew it was from the early bedtime..."I did it for you Mom...I knew you'd be proud!"

Last night as I was tucking him in he told me I was special. I in turn told him thank you and said, "You know Cooper, you're really special too!" He says, "I know that. But I'm special because I'm your kid...it runs in our family!"

What a sweet boy! I guess he's over me packing up all his stuff after all!

Cameo Cupcakes!

As some of you know I have a little baking hobby that turned into a small business about a year ago. I have a love for cupcakes and really enjoy sharing them with others! What's not to love about a cupcake? An awesome little package of perfectly proportioned moist cake with fluffy frosting! Anyway...I've had lots of requests recently for information, so I thought I'd use my blog for a little plug.

I do cupcakes for all occasions...weddings, showers, birthdays, anniversaries, gifts and sometimes just because! I charge anywhere from .75 to $2 a piece and normally do a minimum of 2 dozen. I do just about any flavor you can dream up...chocolate, vanilla, red velvet with cream cheese butter cream, coconut, peanut butter, strawberry...the list goes on and on! I have some super cute packaging for individual gifts as well, which makes a great party favor! I also have cupcake tiers available for rent if you need them for displaying.

I will have a website coming with more information and hope to do a baking blog with it!

If anyone is interested you can give them my mobile number or have them email me at lindseyrowden@hotmail.com.

Yum!

Packing

Packing...oh the packing...how on earth did we accumulate so much STUFF? The actual "packing" part hasn't been that bad, but going through all of the "things" is ridiculous. I'd like to think I'm pretty neat and organized, but seriously? How embarrassing! The junk. The trash. The randomness. Every drawer. Every closet. And seemingly every corner! I will be excited to start anew, but I'm sure that's wishful thinking!

We've actually set a pretty good pace, packing each night after the kids are in bed. Today my in-laws took the kids for the day and we were able to pack up most of their rooms. We have 6 more days to get ready before the moving truck is here to load up...and then it's on to stay with Nana and GaGa until September 1st! I hope their ready for us...me, Ryan, Coop, Sadie and our dog Meg!

The Lake!

On our mini vacation we took the kids down to the MamMaw and Pop's lake place for a couple of days. We all had a great time and the kids were ANGELS! We even had some old friends down for the evening, which was super fun. We took boat rides, played, fished, watched fireworks and took out the paddle boat. It was so relaxing! Thanks Ronnie and Becky for a great weekend...we are looking forward to doing it again soon!

Sadie playing on the beach!

Gimme Kiss!

Ryan and Rich putting on a fireworks show...
I think maybe they had more fun than the kids!

Me and Kris...I miss hanging out with this girl!

Best buds Cooper and Caleb!

We are on Vacation!

Yes! Me and the kiddos are officially off work until next Tuesday (according to Coop they work at Shelby's house!)...5 whole days with no plans and nothing but fun! I will keep you posted on our adventures and will have to figure out a way to get some pics...my camera is still in the hospital. **tear**
