We are Moving...FINALLY!

Oh my goodness, I feel like we've been talking about this move FOREVER! We closed on our new house yesterday afternoon and have started moving in! We made GREAT progress yesterday. They delivered the moving truck about 3:30 yesterday...and it was unloaded and gone by 5! The weather was a PERFECT 75 degrees and the light rain we were having cleared up just in time. The kitchen is unpacked and the dining room and living room are arranged. Today is on to tackle the bedrooms before the kids come home. They are going to be SO EXCITED...I can't wait to see their faces when they see their belongings again! Our new house already feels like home...I love it!

Our Trip to Canada

Ryan and I in the Toronto Harbour

Niagara Falls

A little lunch...

The Maid of the Mist

Here are a couple of pics from Ryan and I's trip to ASAE in Toronto, Canada. We enjoyed some time away, had great dinners and drinks and spent 1 day at Niagara Falls. We have officially decided (after a 12 hour day at NF's) that Ryan and I neither one are really site see-ers. It makes us really cranky and we aren't much on crowds. We may have to suck it up a bit when are kids are of Disney World age! Hopefully they won't mind beach vacations and maybe a bit of skiing! Anyway...Niagara Falls was gorgeous and everyone must do the Maid of the Mist...as least ONCE! I'm always amazed on our getaways how tired I am and how much I appreciate the extra sleep. I'm sure the extra night-caps help too!

Fishin'

Cooper and GaGa with the 1st days catch!
Cooper with his new net...a rubber one. They first bought him a regular net, but they have rubber ones for themselves. Apparently the hooks don't get caught. He said, "Well why do I have to have one that the hooks get caught in?" After GaGa saw what a great fisherman he was, he scored the new net!

I love how he his pulling back!

The BIG ONE!

Eating it up!

New fishin' vest.

One of my Mom's favorite hobbies is fly fishing. Her and my Dad have been going with a group for a while now and recently came back from a place in Ava, Missouri that they really enjoyed. After many stories and conversations about going back, Cooper decided he needed to go check it out...and it didn't take much convincing! They had a blast and caught a TON of fish! I was informed that Coop caught the most and even tried to give Nana a few pointers!

We always joke that we should write some of the funnier things Cooper says down so one day he can look back at them. And on this trip Nana did! Here are just of few of the things he said on the car ride to Ava...

Are we there yet?
by Cooper Rowden

How big is this place?
How many horses do they have?
What color are the bridles?
Do you have to use a saddle?
How long do they let you ride?
What’s a prisoner?
Why do they have to pick up trash?
How much longer till we get there?
Where are we?
What Lake?
Who is Kay?
Why are we stopping at her place?
Does this place have a hot tub?
How big is the pool?
If you have never swam in the pool, then how do you know they have a pool?
What if we don’t catch any fish?
How long does it take to get here anyway?
Why do you have a Petco card on your keys?
How long does it take?
GaGa can’t you drive faster?
What kind of fish are we gonna catch?
What kind of trout?
Are we gonna catch any catfish?
How will we know which room is ours?
GaGa did you just run a red light?
Really, how long does it take?
Do you know what a mountain walker is? “A man who walks up a mountain!”

Family Night

Ryan and Lindsey

The Roomies...GaGa, Awkie, Cooper, Sadie and Nana

Auntie Awk and Sadie

Sadie and her dinner...Yum!

Cooper and his dinner...4 pieces of chicken!

On Sunday my parents took us all to dinner at the Country Club for "Fried Chicken Night"...buffet style salad, chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and hot rolls! Always a night enjoyed by all! And I got to play with my new camera! It's always amazing to me the things I forget about when I don't take pictures. Beware...I will now be blogging about everything...the Randomness with the Rowden's!
In the next couple of weeks we have Cooper's 1st fly fishing trip, a trip to Canada, the big move and Coop's first day of preschool. Wow...I'm worn out just thinking about it!

The "F" Word...Seriously.

So...I don't normally tell about the REALLY naughty things my kids come up with! I mean...really...who would want anyone to know that there kids aren't always perfect?! This one was just too funny not to share. My Mom emailed the story below a couple of months ago after watching the kids. And yes...we do have potty mouths at our house and are really trying to watch our language...especially after Coop dropped the "F" bomb!

We were playing "Rodeo" and Cooper was a bull rider. Well, he pretends to get bucked off, falls down and says "damn that hurt!" I said "Cooper Rowden we don't say that word!" He grins and says okay. On the next ride he pretends his rope breaks and he says "what the hell?!" I said Cooper Rowden we don't say that word either!" He very quickly with a big grin and two dimples says what about "f_ _ k!?" I said "Cooper Rowden that is a really bad word and I will take you in the bathroom and wash your mouth out with soap!" He says "Please Nana can I just cuss at your house?" I said "no you cannot cuss at my house or anywhere, your Mom would be so mad, to which he said "if you don't tell her . . . she won't worry about it!"

Good Morning!

Posted by Picasa
This morning Cooper and Sadie woke up in super good moods and even a little early...which is a miracle in our house! Ryan was in the shower and they decided to join him. They stayed in the tubby even after the shower was over...Here's a couple of pics! Here's hoping for a great week!
