Lately Cooper has been really curious about what people do all day...do they work, where do they work, how do we get a hold of them, etc. He recently told my Dad (who is semi-retired?), that "Everyday is a stay home day for you GaGa, right?" Well tonight we have talked about how Ryan's Dad is retired and everyday isn't really a stay home day for GaGa either. To make matters funnier, he decided he wanted to call his Grandma Becky this afternoon. After explaining to him she was still at work and we would call her after dinner, he decided he could do it himself. He says, "Mom she works at the hospital. I can call her myself. You just dial 9-1-1...you know that!" Boy do we have some more explaining to do! Sometimes (well most times!) he is way too smart for his own good! We love you Cooper!

Prizes from Colombia!
My sister and Luis always bring back the best prizes from Colombia. Cooper looks forward to the different gifts, Ryan REALLY likes the coffee and I love the cool jewelry! Here are some pictures of the kids with their most recent prizes....Cooper is his new jersey, which is super cool since all he talks about is his new soccer team. We are really hoping Luis will be here for his first game in March, but we'll see. Maybe he can wear his matching jersey! Sadie Re got a new donkey or mule?? An authentic Juan Valdez conchita! She gives her kisses and makes a super cute mmmmmm.....sound each time! Thanks Awk and LuLu...we love you!

Tonight's Young Life Dinner
To help out with our local Young Life group, I have signed up for the dinner committee. This means that every six weeks or so we open up our home to 10 or 15 Young Life leaders from the J-Town group...JCHS, Helias and/or Blair Oaks. Tonight was the JCHS group and we had "Walking Tacos"...what a hit (thanks Me-Ma!)! For those of you who have not had them, they are a spin on Frito Pies...cut open a crunched up bag of Doritos and top with all of the taco goodies...then eat it right out of the bag! Yum! We had a great time hearing about what's going on in the local Club and our kids really get a kick out of all of the guests! Here is a picture of Sadie helping me out after they left...the knife in her hand looks huge and dangerous...I promise it wasn't!

Piggy Bank
So my husband makes a trip to the ATM today and being the thoughtful person that he is, picks up an extra $50 for his wife (who NEVER has cash). Comes home and hands it to me while I'm flipping through the mail and I placed it on the coffee table under my Blackberry. A little while later he comments on how I really should do something with that....you shouldn't leave money laying around...blah blah blah!
Well, it turns out I should have listened! I just looked down and realized that it was gone. As I'm looking for it, Cooper asks what I'm looking for. I explained that I was looking for the money that was here....he pipes up and says... "Oh yeah! I put that it my piggy bank. Thanks!"
Are you kidding me? A $50 bill? Do you know how hard it is to get money out of a piggy bank? Looks like finders keepers! And a double mistake for Mom....we match everything that comes out of the piggy bank! My little entrepreneur!

Sicky Wicky
Well, we successfully made it through Christmas, New Year's and a wedding all feeling pretty good...but I swear we have all been sick since then. I just made yet another trip to Walgreen's for prescriptions and feel good stuff. I'm determined to feel better! Poor Sadie has a terrible nose and just isn't herself! She's all greased up with socks and special sauce and tucked in cozy with the humidifier. I've got my fingers and toes crossed that we both feel better tomorrow!!

Ryan's 1st Day
Today was the big day...Ryan's first day as the Executive Director of the Missouri Petroleum Council. I think he has had his fill of paperwork! He went through most of the day with different times on his new laptop, desk phone and Blackberry...talk about making someone crazy! Tonight he is fighting with our home wi-fi connection and his new computer. I might need to find him some drugs! And to think it's only Monday! For the most part it sounds like it went really well, but it will be tough learning the ropes when he is the only one here. I'm sure he will do a great job!

New Tricks!
We have learned all kinds of new things this weekend! Cooper is now a professional snapper and so very proud! He said, "You know Mom...if you would have taught me to use my middle finger with my thumb, I would have been able to do this a LONG time ago!" Sadie girl is now quite the walker...still a little careful, but really steady. It's hard to believe she is walking and getting ready to celebrate her 1st birthday already on the 22nd. Sadie's 2nd new trick of the weekend is blowing kisses...it's too cute!
